More than 50-year old experience of profitable work in preparation of scientific-educational staff, presence of highly-qualified staff potential from the number of doctors and candidates of science, professors and assistant professors deep realizing of educational principles made our university one of the main educational centres of higher pedagogical education in the Far East of Russia. Raising the effectiveness and integration of higher education, we aim to unite talented people and world achievements within the precincts of Amur State University of Humanities and Pedagogy. That’s why we are always glad to welcome foreign guests, teachers and students from all countries, who want to come to us to study many-sided culture of Russia and make their own contribution to the friendship development and international professional education cooperation.Komsomolsk-na-Amure State Pedagogical Institute was founded more than 50 years ago. Throughout the years of its existence higher educational institution has trained more than 30000 graduates who work all over the country. Nowadays it has the status of the University that was approved in 1999. In November, 2006 the University was renamed into Amur State University of Humanities and Pedagogy. The University possesses four buildings where more than 7000 students are taught in the full- and part-time departments, postgraduate and higher supplementary educational curricula. The students are trained in 40 educational programs with modern IT application. The teaching process is carried out by the experienced professors and instructors who are valued by their colleagues within and far beyond the limits of the town.
The post-graduate department of ASUHP provides the courses in 15 directions. Recently more than hundred of dissertations were defended. Many of them were defended by foreign post-graduates and researcher workers. With the assistance of the University five regional Dissertational Councils in the Sciences of Pedagogy, Psychology, Philosophy and Humanities were opened and are function now.
Now the University is at a new stage of its development. Its buildings are under reconstruction, students’ everyday life is improving, and the scientific base is developing.  The international activities of ASUHP
The international activities at our University are constantly increasing. During the last years the agreements about the long-term cooperation with the Universities of Great Britain, China, Japan, Canada, Vietnam, and France were signed. In accordance to these agreements foreign instructors, leading professors are invited to our University; joint scientific research work is carried out; there are also Student and Faculty Exchange Programs. Students of ASUHP have possibility of annual study trips to the universities of People’s Republic of China, Japan and other countries. Individual scientific research work is realized in collaboration with colleagues from the USA, Canada, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Hungary, Norway, Japan and South Korea.
The Rector of Jiamusi University (China) Mr. Zhang Shaojie, Ambassador of Japan in Uzbekistan Mr. Kusumoto and Mr. James Pitt, Professor of the University of York (Great Britain) are the Honorable Professors of our University. In May, 2006 ASUHP joined Northeastern Association of University Presidents (NAFUP).
At the moment students from China, Japan, Canada, USA and different other countries have possibility to study Russian at ASUHP. All international students live in a comfortable dormitory, with all the necessary conveniences. The dormitory is situated in the Campus. If a student has already got the Diploma, there is a wide range of specialties for the Post-graduate and Master’s courses.
Post graduates from abroad write their research papers in different fields of study, like education, psychology, languages and others.
