In order to develop Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of education, popularization of Chinese culture and the Chinese language, from September 1 to November 24, 2022, the International Humanitarian Olympiad "Chinese Meridian" was held remotely at Yaroslavl State Pedagogical University named after K.D.Ushinsky.
The organizers of the competition were the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Southwestern University of Chongqing (China), Yaroslavl State Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushinsky.
The participants of the Olympiad had to provide a video about their research project on various issues of Chinese history and modern life: linguistics, literary studies, history, culture, art, economics, sociology or political science.
Our university was represented by FPIC students Olga Litvinova (POia-43 group), Dana Subbotenko (LG-49 group) and Anna Gorgos (POia-33 group)
In total, about 200 research papers in the above-mentioned nominations participated in the competition.
As a result, the team of the organizing committee and the jury selected the best projects in each area. In the Sociology category, Dana Subbotenko, a 4th-year student at FPIC, won the third prize, making a presentation on "Attitudes towards women in traditional China and its impact on their modern lives."
