The coming of the New Year with its fabulous, mystical atmosphere has captured the actors and the audience, students and teachers of FPIC. N.V. Gogol, M.Y. Lermontov and F.M. Dostoevsky appeared in a strange and fascinating act, composing a New Year's greeting to Emperor Nicholas II. The critic D.I. Pisarev was visited by ghosts – Tatiana Larina, Katerina Kabanova and Olga Ilyinskaya, offended by his articles. Then there are the heroes of various classical works of 19th-century Russian literature (G. Pechorin, R. Raskolnikov, Manilov, and others) turned out to be participants in an Agatha Christie-style investigation conducted by Erast Fandorin. It all ended, as befits a New Year's Eve party, with an extraordinary fortune-telling on "literary cards." The students' performance was remembered for its excellent directing and acting work. But most importantly, it showed that future teachers of Russian language and literature had mastered the educational material perfectly.
